Our house is stuffed with things from parents, grandparents, and kids. The kids may want some of theirs, but the parents and grandparents are gone so we have to figure out what to do with the rest of it.
In Minnesota, where I grew up, there is a long tradition of household auctions. One of my uncles made a lving buying at these sales and reselling to collectors he had come to know. The internet changed everything.
However, there is still a lot of work to be done to accomplish downsizing efficiently and in a reasonable amount of time. I really don't want to spend the next two years selling stuff; I just don't find it all that entertaining.
