Do three sales make a trend? We were pleased to see our system for selling digital pictures worked as we hoped for the first three orders we got.
We have a PayPal button for each image we sell. When a buyer clicks the button they are taken to PayPal to pay and we get an email that tells us what they ordered. We set things up so the email includes the number assigned to the picture by the camera. Using that number we can quickly find the original and email it to the buyer. It goes very quickly; with some practice it would only take a couple of minutes to complete the order.
We understand we may loose potential customers who don't want to wait for us to email their picture. However, by doing it this way we avoid the need to store our full size pictures on the server. That reduces our server space need by 90%.
