Walking Rain Gallery is the website we are building to serve as a hub site for selling our stock photos and hand made greeting cards. While we think we take nice pictures and add motivational and inspirational quotes to them, we are unlikely to be able to compete for search engine rankings with the giant stock photography sites; at least for stock photo generic search terms.
We do think we can rank for more specific, long tail search phrases. The reality is we don't have millions of pictures for sale and never will. It's a better customer experience if buyers find us because they did a search for a specific kind of photograph, which we have. We will never provide a quality experience for the customer looking for a "One size fits all." destination stock image site.
We are building a collection of stock photo websites on a variety of keyword rich domains. Each of these "spoke" sites will link back to Walking Rain Gallery. Walking Rain Gallery will link to all the spoke sites. The first spoke site we have put in place is for stock Christmas pictures which buyers can use to design their own Christmas cards, or to buy cards from us.
We expect visitors to find us as the result of a long tail search such as "stock christmas photos". After looking at our Christmas picture collection some of them will want to see what else we have to offer and will follow the link to Walking Rain Gallery. There they can see what other stock photo sites we have and visit them in their search for unique stock photos with unrestricted rights management.
